Suggested topics Dr. Scott is available to speak about:

Getting Your Way In a Relationship

It’s the age-old, timeless issue: how can the person we love so much drive us so crazy?? The socks don’t get picked up… there is always nagging… and why isn’t there more… you know, of THAT? What it really comes down to is if you want to get your way, you have to first be willing to give your partner something THEY want – so how do you do that without it looking like a barter system? Don’t keep score, among other things.

Popular interview questions about getting your way in a relationship include:

  1. A lot of people relate “getting your own way” to being a selfish type of attitude … is there really a way to get what you want while also being considerate of other people?
  2. The old perception is that it’s either my way or your way — we can’t both get what we want — is that really true?
  3. Is it actually possible for people to get what they want in life by helping others get what they want?
  4. What happens when 2 people want the exact opposite — how do you find an acceptable compromise?
  5. What’s the biggest challenge when trying to collaborate in order to get your way in a relationship?

What is that NPL or … LPN … or whatever it is you call it?

Television shows, websites and even psychiatrists have all made disparaging commentary about the field of Neuro Linguistic Programming; including everything from being called a cult of brainwashing experts to a new-age therapy for fringe thinkers and scam artists. Yet, against these constant attacks, the art of NLP continues to grow and expand even today — the question is: why?

NLP is a behavioral science which looks specifically at the communication processes that happen within the mind. To be exact, the underlying goal of everything NLP is to determine the unconscious mental strategy that go on behind the decisions a person makes in life — such as buying strategies for salespeople, healing strategies for medical professionals, learning strategies for teachers, etc. Common interview questions about what NLP is include:

  1. What is Neuro Linguistic Programming — what is the purpose of NLP?
  2. NLP was originally designed for the field of psychology to help people overcome mental issues, so how could it possibly benefit people in other industries as well?
  3. Some people say you can use NLP to brainwash or control other people — is that true?
  4. If I took an NLP course, what would it allow me to do?
  5. NLP is considered a certification program taught through private career training institutes — how long is the course, and what kind of people usually attend?

Secrets of the Ethical, Successful Salesperson

Great salespeople are more than just scam artists using fast talking skills to make a quick buck. The key to truly successful salespeople are their customer loyalty. The issue is that most people feel it’s the business’ job to build brand loyalty, not the customer service personnel; however, a truly elite salesperson takes that on themselves and, in doing so, automatically develop more ethical selling tactics.

Popular interview questions about the secrets of being an ethical, successful salesperson include:

  1. Usually, when a salesperson is successful they are often considered some kind of con-artist, but is it possible to be a successful salesperson without tricking people?
  2. What’s the difference between a salesperson with NLP and one without?
  3. Is it true that salespeople with NLP training can get anyone, anywhere to buy almost anything?
  4. How does a person protect themselves from unethical salespeople?
  5. What’s one key element that salespeople should keep in mind in order to be more successful?

Why Law of Attraction Will Work for Everyone Except You

Since the movie “The Secret” an endless number of “Law of Attraction” books, articles and websites continue to explode into the mainstream market for everything from business to relationships to general self-help. The problem is that, even though the majority of regular people who attempt to utilize these strategies for intention manifestation seem to succeed, no one truly understands how it works.

More importantly, the big question is: why does it seem to work for some people and not others? Popular interview questions about why Law of Attraction doesn’t work for certain people include:

  1. Is it really true that Law of Attraction can allow a person to manifest anything they want?
  2. Why is it that some people who use Law of Attraction seem to get everything they want and then it never seems to work for the next person — what are they doing differently?
  3. If Law of Attraction isn’t working for me, what does it mean — what do I need to change in order to make it work?
  4. How exactly does Law of Attraction really work — what’s a kind of scientific way of explaining it?
  5. If a person wants to use Law of Attraction techniques successfully, what’s the most important thing they should keep in mind when doing it?

“The tenants [Dr. Scott] promotes in his book are so fundamentally in line with my own that I feel like he’s been inside my head. I felt the same way the first time I read Stephen Covey, which means he’s in very good company […] This is an important piece of work. Reading through it identifies the fact that so few people are even aware of how their behaviour affects others, and that workplaces are not doing enough to coach their staff on the importance of honouring each other’s lives and perspectives.”

“I really appreciate your book – I am getting a little frustrated with the victim-mentality out there and the idea that targets don’t play an active role in their own circumstances. So, thank you for offering up some real and tangible advice about communication – which provides empowerment, as opposed to counseling – which facilitates the victim-mentality.”

“My sessions with Daniel not only taught me how to tackle my tough problems but gave me a sense of personal empowerment that was really unparalleled!”

Andrea Butterworth

“I was absolutely amazed at the sensitivity and gentleness shown as Daniel is able to lead my son slowly toward identifying the things which torment him, then offer practical and “do-able” ways to deal with them. … Daniel is completely understanding and empathic to the desolate feelings which can consume a person. He had the ability to gently point out that these feelings are acceptable fro the moment, but will pass. … Daniel’s “laid-back” manner and quiet acceptance, while at the same time delicately leading him towards healthier outlook has begun to work a miracle in my son’s life.”
